The Shuffle

as we wander in the hustle
we get lost in the shuffle
caught in the ebon flow
of how the chaos goes

watching the road curve
into a roundabout folly
take three lefts into the verse
between heart and mind volley

folding the moments back into stack
pushing up the bridge front to back
sorting the order of what suits
clearing the way to the hidden fruits

when we walk the hustle
layered in the shuffle
we can bend the ebon flow
of how the chaos goes

nice rhyme in this…and yes i think the chaos can be controled a bit or at least turned in our favor if we work that walk…smiles….

Nice rhyme indeed, the cat enjoyed it much. So true, we just take a step back once in a while and slow down, then maybe we can beat that chaos, at least a little bit.

  6. Love that rhythm. And I really like “ebon flow”. Marvelous combination of words.

    Great poetry.

  7. Consider sharing some of your spoken word in my group on Sound Cloud? Pretty please? :) You can find the link in the left bar on my blog! :) Hope to see you there :)

I love that you don’t fear rhyme, and you make it work without any danger of it being classified as doggerel (as much rhyming poetry gets blamed as being).

  19. Luke Prater says:

great rhythm and rhyme here you two… couldn’t help noticing stanza two’s deviance from your aabb rhyme-scheme but that’s probably just me being anal again :)
