Indifference

This is the consequence of indifference
How much longer shall we pretend?
Ignoring their silent existence

When will we stand up and give resistance?
And feed the warmonger a bitter end
This is the consequence of indifference

Resting on the hope of human resilience
In their death our society descends
Ignoring their silent existence

The starving children need our insistence
We will not accept posturing political dead ends
This is the consequence of indifference

The time is now to show true diligence
The oppression of spirit too long the trend
Ignoring their silent existence

We can fight for their nourished deliverance
Allow the true power of compassion to distend
This is the consequence of indifference
Ignoring their silent existence

  1. I like villanelles and enjoyed yours, too. It is horrible that the UN and each country allows that to go on. Libya was bombed, probably for oil reasons in Europe, but they don’t step in with a quick and firm hand to help the dying.

  2. news pool says:

they are very interested on interest :( sad but true! it´s why libia´s, iraq´s independence much more important than the people dying in hunger :( (i don´t mean they have less important, i mean only knowing why they are there makes me think this)
we should not ignore their silent existence. those organization UN, NATO etc are ignoring. but at least we should not.
If you don´t mind, please check our article too about Somalia.
